A spokesman for the UN General Assembly has told VOA that a UN committee meeting will be held on December 1 to decide who will represent Burma at the UN.

The nine-member Credential Committee will discuss the representation of Myanmar and Afghanistan, which are competing for representation at the United Nations. Currently, Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun, who supports the Interim National Unity Government (NUG) against the military coup, remains Burma’s ambassador to the United Nations.
