By sector, Myanmar citizens’ investment in the real estate development sector was 4673.169 billion kyats (89 businesses); In the manufacturing sector, 3,728.552 billion kyats (917 businesses); Ks 3,013.801 billion (52 businesses) in the transportation sector; 2,195.685 billion kyats (191 businesses) in the hotel and tourism sector; In the construction sector, 1,120.068 billion kyats (68 projects).

In the industrial development sector, 899.828 billion kyats (12 projects); 821.129 billion kyats (22 projects) in the energy sector; 370.259 billion kyats (91 projects) in the livestock and fisheries sector; 212.389 billion kyats (72 businesses) in the mining sector; In the agricultural sector, Ks 89.635 billion (18 businesses) and Ks 3,403.410 billion (168 businesses) have been allowed to invest in other sectors.

As of the end of the 2015-2016 fiscal year (end of March 2016), the total investment of Myanmar citizens was over 11624 billion kyats, and around 8709 billion kyats in the four years (48 months) of the current government. Investment from local businesses has grown significantly in the real estate development sector, and since January 2017, it has surpassed the manufacturing sector, which was previously the largest domestic investment sector, to top the list.

Citizen investors have the right to invest in the country. Fill in the application form for the Myanmar Investment Commission to get the benefits. The proposal has to be submitted to the Myanmar Investment Commission in Nay Pyi Taw.
