Thanks to a partnership between Amazon and Starbucks, a Starbucks Pickup and Amazon Go store has officially opened in New York City.

On 59th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues in Manhattan, a new “Starbucks Pickup with Amazon Go” store debuted today. According to the press release, it is meant to give customers with a convenient digital checkout experience.

Starbucks Pickup locations are primarily concerned with fulfilling online orders received in advance via the app. Customers may place and pay for orders while driving to the store, then pick them up without having to wait in line when they get there.

As customers arrive, Amazon Go stores connect to their Amazon Shopping app, allowing them to grab whatever they want and leave using Just Walk Out technology. Anything customers take from the shelf is automatically added to their shopping cart (or removed from the cart if they return it), and when they leave, the app will check them out.

This one-of-a-kind hybrid store brings the finest of both worlds together. Starbucks customers can order drinks and other things from the menu ahead of time.

They can also check in and get Amazon Go food items before or after having their drink using the Amazon Shopping app. Among the alternatives are fresh salads, Amazon Kitchen sandwiches, bakery goods, protein packs, breakfast sandwiches, and Starbucks egg pieces.
